Collection consists of correspondence, pamphlets, leaflets, reports, clippings, and other printed materials related to William C. Carr and the activities of the Friends of the American Way. Carr's correspondence with various state and local officials includes Earl Warren, Chester F. Gannon, Fletcher Bowron, Lloyd W. Lowrey, and Fred N. Howser. The collection also includes various samples of printed hate materials opposing the return and resettlement of Japanese Americans at the end of WWII. Includes reports and printed materials related to the War Relocation Authority (WRA). Also contains 19 photographs of Japanese Americans and five large scrapbooks (1941-47).
